In every bad situation, there’s opportunity.
Halifax, Nova Scotia-based Salesboom.com, which like Entellium offers hosted customer relationship management software, is trying to pick off customers of the embattled Seattle software startup. It is calling the effort the “Entellium Rescue Initiative.”
“Salesboom.com’s Entellium Rescue Initiative offers current Entellium customers a safe haven during these rocky times by offering accelerated data migration services at no cost,” the company writes in a press release.
Salesboom also said that it is considering buying Entellium’s customer base outright and hiring some of the laid off employees. It notes:
Due to the magnitude and time constraints of this situation Salesboom.com will be working vigorously around the clock in the weeks to come in order to accommodate Entellium’s Customer base and Employees during this transition period.
As we reported earlier this week, other companies also are circling the Entellium assets.

I’m not surprised to see this from CRM vendors like Salesboom. There are a lot of customers who are going to be looking for a new home very soon. It’s hard to hide the fact that their CEO and CFO were arrested, that would make me begin to look for a different vendor. So to see Salesboom set up for these events shows they are prepared to welcome a burst of customers which can sometimes hurt organizations.

Entellium’s Software Developers committed no crimes. Their smart-client CRM technology is excellent, and that’s ultimately what Ignition and others invested in.
“Rescuing” Entellium’s customers by moving them to a completely different platform would be a concession on all fronts that the company was bad to the core, which simply is not the case.
I just can’t see too many existing Rave customers taking a step backwards and using Outlook or a browser for contact management, when they’ve already been sold on the rich-web value proposition.

The product is good but the customers are going to have to go somewhere. The company is closing down.

It’s true the software developers and other employees did not commit any crimes and it truly is a regrettable situation for these people. I noticed in Salesboom’s release that they were not only focusing on Entellium’s customers but the employees affected by these events by inviting them to apply for work with Salesboom. It’s kind of a match since both of these organizations market rich web based applications.

It looks like no other news left in Puget Sound. All we hear is Entellium. Kind of became boring to read the same. Just move on unless you have nothing else left to report.,

How many other $50MM scams have we seen this year? I would say this is kind of a big deal.

$50million scam? Obviously some observers either don’t understand the issue or can’t read.
