Redmond-based Micronics Inc., which is developing products that detect and diagnose disease, has raised a new round of funding from the Southwest Michigan First (SWMF) Life Science Fund.
Micronics said the new funding, plus a previous round of funding raised from private investors earlier this year, is expected to total $9 million.
Micronics is developing disposable devices that can test biological and environmental samples faster than current molecular diagnostic tests.
The $50 million Southwest Michigan First Life Science Fund is a venture fund that invests in early stage life science companies that are “committed to establishing a presence” in the southwest Michigan region.
