Venture investments head south

Venture capital deals and dollars dipped slightly in Washington state during the third quarter, a trend that could continue as the economic storm looms.

IPO, M&A markets take a big hit

It is looking like 2008 could very well be the worst year for venture-backed initial public offerings, with Dow Jones VentureSource reporting that only seven companies have completed IPOs during the first three quarters.
That compares to 48 companies during the same period last year.

Economic woes hurting startups
